Long Island Breakfast Club helps to aid essential workers

Long Island Breakfast Club recently partnered with 200 essential workers at Northwell Health in Valley Stream to support them for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic. The Breakfast Club donated free therapeutic salt treatments throughout July for essential workers at the Tranquility Spa in Franklin Square.

“We’re fully committed to the community and our essential workers,” said Breakfast Club President Valentina Janek. “You get what you give, and we have to continue to make the people in our community a priority.”

The Tranquility Spa, at 700 Franklin Ave., has made several changes to meet the new safety codes. The 200 sessions were donated by spa owner Angela Cui.

“Over these past few months, our team at LIJ Valley Stream was here to support our community through an unprecedented time,” said David Seligman, executive director of the hospital. “The amount of support returned to us from the community has been heartwarming. I would like to thank Angela Cui, Valentina Janek and Gregg Cajuste for their generosity in donating free salt treatments to our health care heroes at LIJ Valley Stream.”

The treatment sessions, Janek explained, usually last about 45 minutes per person. The spa treatment uses a holistic approach that is geared towards improving breathing, and in some cases, lung functions.
